Connecting Stages takes shape as a crossing: a perceptual threshold in which different inner layers — consciousness, sensitivity, emotional tensions, choices — do not unfold in sequence, but overlap, contaminate one another, and continuously rewrite themselves.
The experience invites a descent: the soft, indeterminate pleasure of letting go, of moving downward, of losing oneself in depth in order to rise again. Not a simple downward motion, but an immersion into the stratifications of the self, where inner states thicken, contradict one another, and transform. In this deep space, perception becomes unstable, permeable, open to interference.
It is from this immersion that the gesture of ascent takes form: a re-emergence that does not coincide with a return to origin, but with a redefinition. The light toward which one moves is not a final destination, but an ideal construction — fragile, shifting — that we call subjectivity.
Within this process, the individual does not assert itself in isolation, but recognizes itself as part of a wider field: a sea of other presences, a relational horizon that constitutes the very fabric of the everyday. Connecting Stages inhabits this tension: between interiority and exposure, depth and surface, identity and relation — between what we are, what we choose, and what, together, we become.

Dj Mortimer, a historic figure of the Italian New Wave and Post-Punk scene, active since 1982 between Small Club in Pieve di Cento and Disco d’Oro in Bologna. Today he leads Backonwave, keeping alive a sonic imagination that crosses generations.
Main
Alessio Bertallot, musician, DJ and author, one of the most recognizable voices in Italian independent music culture. From Aeroplanitaliani to B Side and Casa Bertallot, he has contributed to the spread of new sonic languages across radio, research and performance.

Offset is a visual research project born from the collaboration between Discosfera and Elisio, supported by the European Union and developed with Link Academy through the VibeLab Nightschool program. It explores new forms of collective experience within contemporary club culture.
